Leave No Trace
Mark Elliott & Jerry Vandiver

Beyond the signs and the tire tracks
Past the point where I don’t look back
There’s a place that calls to me
Where the wind and water speaks

Keep it wild, leave it free
For those who walk here after me
From the desert sands to the glacier lakes
I’ll make my mark and leave no trace

I see this place just like a child
It’s as fragile as it is wild
It’s in my care but I believe
I need it more than it needs me, so I

Keep it wild, leave it free
For those who walk here after me
From the desert sands to the glacier lakes
I’ll make my mark and leave no trace

I can give or I can take
The choice is mine to make

 Repeat Chorus

“I'll make my mark and leave no trace”

SONG STORy

Mark wrote this song with his longtime friend, songwriter, and fellow river lover, Jerry Vandiver. It appeared first, in 2012, on Jerry's True and Deep - Songs For The Heart Of The Paddler release. The song represents Mark, Jerry and, Gary's commitment to help protect the wilderness waters that have played such a sentinel role in all of their lives.
