Passions
Mark Elliott
I've got a passion for mountains, a passion for skies
The sound of a freight train stealing the night
And the dreams I get when my working day is through
I've got a passion for cars that used to be cars
Closing my eyes and watching the stars
And baby I've got a passion for you
Love and pain ain't nothin' but the marrow of my life
I might be an emotional man but I'm not in disguise
So if you'll take me as I am I think you'll find my love is true
And that I'm one of the passionate few
And I've got a passion for you
I've got a passion for highs a passion for lows
The midnight AM Radio
And the way it feels to finally shake the blues
I've got a passion for memories and lifelong friends
Morning kisses that never end
And baby I've got a passion for you
REPEAT CHORUS
I've got a passion for bets, a passion for breaks
But a habit of making big mistakes
I've been tossed around and spun beneath the wheel
But I know what I know I feel what I feel
I say what I say, and at least that's real
REPEAT CHORUS

Song story
Every songwriter has one song that is the most revealing of who they are, the "most them." This is Mark's song. It was written on a very special Martin Guitar in the corner of Tom Dundee's living room in the Roger's Park neighborhood of Chicago late one night after a long day's drive for Mark and Gary. It's a song about everything Mark is passionate about in life. And it is still, "the most" him.
